Wow, what a trip!  Diving with the Killer Whales of Norway was everything I thought it would be and more.  I've always been fascinated with the ocean and especially the big animals found in it.  Not exactly sure why, since I grew up in Oklahoma, which is a long ways from any ocean, but I suspect it had a lot to do with the Jacques Cousteau National Geographic specials I watched as a kid.

So where did I come up with the idea of swimming with Killer Whales in Norway anyway?  National Geographic of course (if you're not a member of the society, you should be).  There was an article in 1993  about a guy who went to Norway to photograph Killer Whales, which by itself was interesting to me, but no big deal - except for the fact that he took the photographs underwater while he was swimming with them!  The guy's name was Amos Nachoum, and it was a name I never forgot.  Little did I know when I was reading my National Geographic article in Oklahoma in 1993 that I would someday meet and become friends with this incredibly interesting and talented man.

If you've ever wanted to encounter a Killer Whale up close and personal it its native habitat, do yourself a favor and contact Amos at http://www.biganimals.com and tell him Jay Wade sent you. You won't be disappointed!
