Monaco Rendezvous 2007
| The Monaco Rendezvous is an incredible event. Hosted by Showboats Magazine and SeaKeepers International, it's a fundraiser for some very worthwhile charitable organizations, as well as an opportunity to recognize the top mega-yachts launched in the last year. I was fortunate to be able to attend this year on behalf of both Sub Aviators, who donated underwater flight schools to the charity auction, and SeaKeepers, who awarded Ted Danson with the annual SeaKeepers award for ocean conservation. The event was a huge success with over $400,000 raised for SeaKeepers and the International Commission for the Scientific Exploration of the Mediterranean. |

However, as you can see from the photos, the Rendezvous is much more than just the "Oscars of Yachting" and an awards dinner. Monaco is a special place and the Rendezvous takes full advantage of all it has to offer. When you're in a tux, having a martini on the balcony of the Hotel de Paris, overlooking the Monte Carlo Casino, it's a little surreal, and you can't help but feel like you're in a James Bond movie. Which as it turns out, is the magic of the place. |

So here's a big "thank you" to all of the folks from ShowBoats and SeaKeepers for putting on a world-class event! It really is remarkable and I've already marked it down on my calendar for next year, which is by far the best recommendation I can give. If you'd like to be a part of next years event, contact SeaKeepers or ShowBoats through their respective websites - you won't be disappointed.
